ABOUT
SUMMARY
My artistic practice is rooted in a strong interest in animal subjects, with a particular focus on close-up compositions that explore character, emotion, and connection. I am especially drawn to working in acrylic paint, enjoying its versatility for achieving both fine detail and expressive mark-making. Animals provide an ongoing source of inspiration for me, allowing me to combine observation with emotional storytelling.
PROCESS
My work spans a mix of illustrative and realistic styles, and I move fluidly between the two depending on the subject matter. This flexibility allows me to create both personal bodies of work and commissioned pieces. I have completed several animal commissions, working closely with clients to capture not only physical likeness but also a sense of personality and presence.
Alongside commissioned work, I actively seek exhibition opportunities to develop and share my practice. I enjoy engaging with audiences and receiving feedback, which continues to shape my artistic direction.
EXHIBITIONS/AWARDS
A key achievement to date includes receiving the Popular Vote award for a painting exhibited at the Troon Art Club exhibition. I have also been selected to exhibit for multiple consecutive years at the Ayrshire Save the Children exhibition, where my submitted works regularly sell.
